EGR Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.

EGR Valve Location & Tube:

2. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector from the EGR valve.

EGR Tube Bracket:

3. Remove EGR tube bracket bolt.

EGR Valve Mounted:

4. Remove the 2 EGR tube bolts.

EGR Valve Gasket:

5. Remove the 2 mounting bolts for the EGR valve and gasket.

INSTALLATION

EGR Valve Gasket:

1. Install the 2 mounting bolts into the EGR valve and gasket.

EGR Valve Mounted:

2. Loose install the EGR valve to cylinder head.
3. Loose install the EGR tube to EGR valve.

EGR Tube Bracket:

4. Install and tighten EGR tube bracket bolt.
5. Tighten the EGR tube to EGR valve bolts to 11.3 N.m (100 in. lbs.) torque.

EGR Valve Location & Tube:

6. Connect and lock the electrical connector for the EGR valve.
7. Install the battery.
8. Connect the positive then the negative battery cable.
