Headliner: Service and Repair

TOP HEADLINER

CAUTION: To avoid damage to the sunvisors, rotate the driver's and passenger's sunvisor down before lowering or raising the convertible top.

REMOVAL

1. Lower all windows.
2. Unlatch top and raise top to midway position.
3. Prop top up with a suitable device.
4. Remove top header panel.
5. Pull down handle.
6. Remove push in fasteners attaching headliner at quarter window.
7. Disconnect four rear anchor straps, two in top well and two at pivot arms.
8. Disconnect headliner velcro above back glass.
9. Disconnect headliner tension straps.
10. Pull headliner free of retainer strip attaching headliner to the bows.
11. Remove headlining from vehicle.

12. Remove retainer strips from bows (Fig. 8).

INSTALLATION

1. Position headliner into position.
2. Snap headliner retainer strip into channel in roof bow, by tapping with a hand or a soft mallet.
3. Connect headliner tension straps.
4. Connect headliner velcro above back glass.
5. Connect four rear anchor straps, two in top well and two at pivot arms.
6. Install push in fasteners attaching headliner at quarter window.
7. Push handle up.
8. Install top header panel.
9. Remove propping device.
10. Lower top and latch top.
11. Raise all windows.
