Suction Line







REMOVAL

WARNING: Refer to the applicable warnings and cautions for this system before performing the following operation Warning and Caution. Failure to follow the warnings and cautions could result in possible personal injury or death.

NOTE: The A/C liquid line can be serviced separately from the A/C suction line





1. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system Refrigerant System Recovery.
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the air cleaner housing and the air inlet tube Air Cleaner Housing - Removal.
4. Disconnect the wire harness connector (4) from the A/C pressure transducer (3) located on the A/C liquid line (1) near the right front strut tower (2).
5. Remove the nut (9) that secures the A/C liquid line to the right front strut tower.
6. Remove the nut (5) that secures the A/C liquid line and A/C suction line (7) to the A/C expansion valve (6).
7. Disconnect the A/C liquid and suction lines from the A/C expansion valve and remove and discard the O-ring seals.
8. Remove the retaining clip (8) that secures the A/C liquid line to the tapping block of the A/C suction line and separate the liquid line from the suction line.
9. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and expansion valve ports.




10. Remove the nut (2) that secures the A/C suction line (1) to the A/C compressor (3).
11. Disconnect the A/C suction line from the A/C compressor and remove and discard the O-ring seal and gasket.
12. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened suction line fitting and compressor port.
13. Disengage the A/C suction line from the refrigerant line routing clip located on top of the right frame rail.
14. Remove the A/C suction line out from the top of the engine compartment.
