Generator - Removal

CAUTION: Disconnect negative cable from battery before removing battery output wire from generator. Failure to do so can result in injury.

1. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable at battery.
2. Remove air box assembly, Air Cleaner Housing - Removal.

CAUTION: Never force a belt over a pulley rim using a screwdriver. The synthetic fiber of the belt can be damaged.

3. Remove drive belt, Accessory Drive Belt - Removal.

NOTE: Do not remove power steering lines from power steering pump, only remove from mounting bracket and position aside.

4. Remove power steering pump assembly from mounting bracket and position aside, Power Steering Pump - Removal.




5. Disconnect field wire electrical connector (1) by pushing on connector tab.
6. Unsnap plastic protective cover (2) from B+ mounting stud.
7. Remove B+ terminal mounting nut (3) and B+ terminal (4) at back of generator.




8. Remove generator mounting bolts (3) and (6).
9. Remove mounting bolt (4) and generator idler pulley (5) from generator (1).
10. Remove generator (1) from mounting bracket (2).
