Cylinder Head Assembly

SURFACE VARIATION - HEAD-TO-BLOCK

Check block deck surfaces for flatness. Deck surface must be within service limit of 0.1 mm (0.004 in.)

CYLINDER HEAD






Tighten bolts in sequence shown, using the following steps and torque values:
Step 1: Bolts 1-8 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.)
Step 2: Bolts 1-8 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.)
Step 3: Bolts 1-8 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.)
Step 4: Bolts 1-8 +90° Turn

CAUTION: Do not use a torque wrench for this step.

Step 5: Bolts 9-11 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.)

Cylinder Head Cover - Bolts 12 Nm (105 in. lbs)

HEAD BOLT REUSE/REPLACE










The cylinder head bolts must be examined BEFORE reuse. If the threads are necked down the bolts must be replaced

Camshaft Bearing Cap






Camshaft Bearing Cap - Bolts 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).

EXHAUST MANIFOLD

Exhaust Manifold-Bolts 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.)
