Starter - Removal

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable at the battery.




2. Secure the steering wheel.
3. Remove the steering gear intermediate shaft (1). Intermediate Shaft - Removal.





4. Remove the starter solenoid heat shield.
5. Disconnect the starter solenoid electrical connector (1) from starter solenoid terminal.
6. Remove the battery cable nut and battery cable from solenoid stud (2).
7. Remove the starter mounting bolts (4), the electrical harness mounting bracket should remain in position.
8. Rotate and remove starter assembly (3) from transmission.
