MODULE UNLOCKED

NOTE: If a NEW column lock module has been installed, a new Radio Frequency Hub (RF Hub) must also be installed.

NOTE: Before attempting service, the ignition key must be inside the vehicle near or on the center console for the entire length of the procedure.

NOTE: Before disconnecting the battery, check that the steering wheel can rotate back and forth verifying the steering column is unlocked.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the steering column opening cover Steering Column Opening Cover - Removal.
3. Remove the steering column cover reinforcement mounting screws (2). Remove the steering column cover reinforcement (1).





4. Insert a suitable drift or pin punch (no more than 4 mm (5/32 in.) in diameter) into each release hole (1) on the module mounting bracket. Insert each drift or punch until it bottoms and leave in place. This will depress the two spring clips that secure the shaft lock module to the mounting bracket.
5. Slide (and wiggle) the column lock module (2) toward the base of the column far enough to disengage the column lock module from the mounting bracket.
6. Disconnect the shaft lock module connector and remove the shaft lock module.
