Self Diagnosis System

A self diagnosis system is built into the ECU of the speed control system. If a malfunction in key components occurs a code is stored in the ECU and the speed control system is disabled then the cruise control light will flash.

To retrieve the code, check terminal T is shorted with the SST and the code will be displayed on the cruise control light.

If malfunction occurs while speed control is in operation and the ignition switch or the speed control switch is turned off the diagnostic code will be erased. Therefore, it may be necessary to duplicate the conditions by a road test.
