Without Computer Control

Label Number: Refers to last two large digits of part number on the left side of label.

NOTE: Specifications on emissions label must be used if different from those given.

NOTE: If Idle speed changes after switches and vacuum hoses are connected do not readjust.

1. Remove PCV valve from grommet.
2. Disconnect and plug canister control vacuum hose.
3. Disconnect and plug EGR and distributor or Spark Control Computer (SCC) vacuum hoses.
4. Disconnect radiator fan switch and install a jumper between the female terminals.
5. Ground the carb idle stop switch.

With AC
1. Remove adjusting screw and spring on top of solenoid.
2. Switch AC unit on and set blower to low.
3. When compressor clutch is cycling, adjust idle speedup speed to specification.
4. Turn AC unit off and replace adjusting screw and spring with engine not running.
5. De-energize radiator fan and start engine, adjust idle speed to specification.

Without AC
1. Set idle speed to specification.
2. Electrically disconnect solenoid and set shutdown speed to specification.


Fast Idle
- Place fast idle cam on specified step and adjust fast idle speed to specification.
