318 - 2BBL Passenger Car With Carter B.B.D. Carburetor

1. Remove air cleaner assembly, vacuum hoses, throttle linkage, etc.

2. Locate and center punch on the side surface of the mixture screw housing 5/16" from the front end of the housing in the center of both mixture screw housings (see Figure 3).
3. Using a 3/16" drill bit, drill at a right angle (900) to the mixture screw housing through the outer surface of the housing.

4. Use a small drift, punch, or "L" shaped Allen wrench to pry out plug. Retain plug for reinstallation.

CAUTION: NEVER PLACE ANY TOOL AGAINST THE MIXTURE SCREW DURING THIS OPERATION.

5. Reinstall air cleaner assembly, vacuum hoses, throttle linkage, etc.

6. Perform propane idle RPM adjustment per applicable service manual procedure.
7. Reinstall concealment plug.

1. Remove air cleaner assembly, vacuum hoses, throttle linkage, etc.

2. Locate and center punch 1/4" from end of mixture screw housing. Use a 10:00 o'clock indexing on the right bank and a 2:00 o'clock indexing on the left bank (see Figure 4).
3. Using a 3/16" drill bit, drill at a right angle (90~) to the housing through the outer section of the mixture screw.

4. Use a small drift, punch, or "L" shaped Allen wrench to pry out plug. Retain plug for reinstallation.

5. Reinstall air cleaner assembly, vacuum hoses, throttle linkage, etc.

6. Perform propane idle RPM adjustment per applicable service manual procedure.

7. Reinstall concealment plug.
