Chrysler Alternators
The main components of the alternator are the rotor, stator, diodes, end shields and drive pulley. Direct current is available at the output "BAT" terminal. The function of the voltage regulator is to limit output voltage. This is accomplished by controlling the current flow in the rotor field coil, in turn controlling the strength of the rotor magnetic field. The electronic voltage regulator is a sealed, non-adjustable unit.
