This reminder uses mileage impulse counting contacts to calculate maintenance intervals. On front wheel drive vans, the module is located in the upper center of the instrument cluster behind the fuel gauge. On Dakota, the module is located to the left of the steering column, behind the instrument panel end cap. On rear wheel drive vans, the module is located on or near the brake pedal support. On 1981-86 D and W Series pickup trucks and Ramcharger and Trailduster models, the module is located to the right of the steering column. On 1987 D and W Series pickup trucks and Ramcharger, the module is located to the right of the glove compartment.

RESET PROCEDURE
After necessary emission maintenance has been performed, reset module as follows:

1. Turn ignition key on.
2. Insert a small screwdriver into small hole on module case and close switch.
3. Turn ignition key off.
4. Remove module from bracket.
5. Remove module battery cover and install a replacement 9 volt battery (if equipped).
6. Reinstall module on mounting bracket.
