Fuel System Pressure Release

The EFI system is under a constant fuel pressure of approximately 36 psi. Fuel system pressure must be released prior to servicing fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel filter or fuel components of the throttle body.

1. Loosen gas cap to release any residual pressure in the fuel tank.
2. Disconnect electrical connector from fuel injector.
3. Using a suitable jumper wire, ground one injector terminal, then connect another jumper wire to other injector terminal and touch battery positive post for no more than 10 seconds.
4. Remove jumper wires from injector terminals.
