Timing Chain Guide: Adjustments
Fig. 48 Counterbalance shaft timing chain adjustment. 2600cc engines:
1. Remove adjusting port cover located at center timing chain cover under water pump.
2. Loosen timing chain guide retaining bolt (B), Fig. 48.
3. With finger, push downward on timing chain guide projection as far as possible and torque retaining bolt (B) to 11-16 ft. lbs. Then install timing port cover and gasket. Use only finger pressure to push downward on timing chain guide projection. Do not use a screwdriver or other tool to push downward on guide, as timing chain tension will be excessive.
