Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection
Fig. 34 TPS test. 1985-86:
1.
Disconnect electrical connector from
TPS with ignition off.
2.
Measure resistance between connector terminals 1 and 3,
Fig. 34. Ohmmeter should indicate 4000-6000 ohms.
3.
Connect ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 2 or 2 and 3,
Fig. 34, and ensure resistance changes smoothly when throttle valve is slowly operated from idle to fully opened position.
