Flushing Rear Evaporator
Refer to figure 2
1. Remove bottom cover from rear A/C unit.
2. Remove the rear expansion valve and replace with rear evaporator flushing adapter, Special Tool # 6006, elbow, and # 6010, line adapter.
3. Place the end of the cut-off suction line into a suitable container to collect the flushing compound.
4. Attach one can of flushing compound, PN 4318008, using appropriate can tapper or refrigerant manifold and charging hose, to rear evaporator flushing adapter.
5. Turn and hold can of flushing compound upside down, and discharge one can through the rear evaporator.
6. Blow out remaining flushing compound from rear evaporator, using R-12 or similar "dry" air source.
NOTE:
DO NOT USE NORMAL COMPRESSED "SHOP" AIR AS IT CONTAINS MOISTURE WHICH COULD CONTAMINATE SYSTEM.
7. Remove flushing adapters and remaining suction line from evaporator.
8. Reinstall expansion valve.
NOTE:
NEW REAR LIQUID AND SUCTION LINES WILL BE INSTALLED LATER IN THIS PROCEDURE.
9. Lower hoist.
