Coolant Sensor Test

1. Connect ohmmeter leads to coolant sensor terminals.
2. Resistance should measure 5000-11000 ohms with engine cold and ambient temperature less than 90° F.
3. Resistance should measure less than 1300 ohms with engine at normal operating temperature.
4. Replace sensor if resistance readings do not meet specifications in steps 2 and 3. Resistance of the sensor will vary as engine operating temperature changes.
