Float Level Adjustment

With carburetor body inverted so that weight of floats only is forcing needle against its seat, use a T-scale or the tool shown, Fig. 3, and check the float level from surface of fuel bowl to crown of each float at center.
If an adjustment is necessary, hold floats on bottom of bowl and bend float lip as required to give the specified dimension. When bending the float lip, do not allow the lip to push against the needle as the synthetic rubber tip (if used) can be compressed sufficiently to cause a false setting which will affect correct level of fuel in bowl. After being compressed, the tip is very slow to recover its original shape.
