Assembly

1. Install new float bowl to throttle body gasket. Place gasket over locating dowels on bottom of float bowl.
2. Install throttle body over dowels on float bowl. Install three throttle body mounting screws and tighten securely.
3. Place carburetor assembly into a suitable working fixture.
4. Install fuel inlet filter spring, a new filter assembly, new gasket and inlet nut. Tighten nut to 18 ft. lbs.
5. Install new cup seal into intermediate choke shaft float bowl side insert. Lip on seal should face outward.
6. Install secondary throttle valve lock out lever on to boss of float bowl. Ensure recess of hole on lever faces inward.
7. Install choke coil lever on flats on intermediate choke shaft, insert attaching screw and tighten. Lever is properly aligned when both the inside and outside levers face the fuel inlet.
8. Install vacuum kick link into intermediate choke shaft lever hole. The end of link should face toward the choke housing.
9. Install lower inner choke rod lever into float bowl cavity.
10. Install choke housing into bowl, sliding intermediate choke shaft into lever.
11. Install choke housing attaching screw and washer.
12. Install air baffle into secondary side of float bowl, if removed, with notches facing upward.
13. Install baffle inside of pump well with slot facing downward.
14. Install discharge ball and attaching screw. Tighten screw.
15. Carefully install primary metering jets into float bowl, if removed.
16. Install float needle seat assembly and gasket.
17. To make adjustment easier, carefully bend float arm upward at the notch in arm before assembly.
18. Install float needle onto float arm by sliding float lever under needle pull clip.
19. Install plastic filler block over float needle.
20. Install power piston spring into power piston well.
21. Install metering rods on to hanger, if removed. Ensure tension spring is attached to the top of each rod.
22. Install power piston into well. Ensure metering rods are properly positioned on metering jets. Press down firmly on plastic retainer until retainer is seated.
23. Install pump return spring into well.
24. Install air horn gasket by sliding tab of gasket around metering rods and beneath power piston hanger. Position gasket over the two dowel pins on float bowl.
25. Carefully lift corner of the air horn gasket and install pump plunger into pump well against spring, then place gasket over plunger stem.
26. Hold down air horn gasket at the pump plunger location and carefully lower air horn on to float bowl.
27. Ensure that bleed tubes, accelerating well tubes, and pump plunger are positioned through the holes in the air horn gasket. Do not force air horn onto bowl.

28. Install secondary air baffle deflector and air horn mounting screws. Tighten screws evenly and securely, Fig. 3.
29. Install vacuum kick air valve rod into air valve lever. Install other end of rod into diaphragm plunger. Install vacuum diaphragm on to bowl.
30. Connect upper end of pump rod to pump lever by placing rod into lever hole noted during disassembly.
31. Align hole in pump lever with hole in air horn casting. Push lever roll pin into casting with a screwdriver until pin is flush with casting boss.
32. Install metering rod hanger and metering rods. Tighten screw securely.
33. Connect choke rod into lower choke rod lever inside bowl cavity. Install choke rod into upper choke lever, then install choke lever.
34. Install choke cover.
35. Install solenoid idle stop.
36. Install choke diaphragm hose.
