5A Check For Spark at Ignition Coil Wire


1. Disconnect ignition coil wire from distributor cap.
2. Hold ignition coil wire terminal approximately 1/4 inch from a good ground and check for spark while an assistant cranks the engine.
3. If there is a spark between the coil wire terminal and ground, check distributor rotor cap and secondary wiring for repair or replacement.
4. If no spark is evident, proceed to Step B.
