V6-181 ENGINES

1. Remove distributor cap attaching screw and the distributor cap, Fig. 3.
2. Remove rotor attaching screw and the rotor.
3. Remove distributor housing cover, then the lead wire clamp screw and lead wire.
4. Remove disk assembly attaching screw, then the disk spacers and disk. Inspect disk for warpage or damage and replace as necessary.
5. Remove bushing, then the photo optic sensing unit fasteners and the sensing unit.
6. Remove two bearing retainer screws.
7. Mark distributor gear and shaft for assembly reference.
8. Drive roll pin out of distributor drive gear, then remove the gear.
9. Remove distributor shaft and bearing assembly.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
