Alternator: Service and Repair

Preparatory Steps:
^ Disconnect the ground cable from the battery terminal.
^ Remove the drive belt from the alternator pulley.





Remove and tag all wires and complete the following steps.





Remove the alternator link capscrew.





Remove the alternator mounting capscrew.





Install the alternator. Tightening the upper mounting capscrews before the tightening lower mounting bolt. Re-connect all wires.

Torque Value:
Upper Capscrew - 24 N-m [18 ft-lbs]
Lower Bolt - 43 N-m [32 ft-lbs]
