Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

NOTE:
The engine controller is mounted in the center of the firewall.

Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC):

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable at battery.

2. Disconnect the positive battery cable at battery.

3. Remove engine cover from vehicle interior.

4. Remove plastic air cleaner intake tube from the engine controller.

Engine Controller:

5. Remove 60-way electrical connector from the engine controller.

6. Remove the three engine controller-to-mounting bracket bolts. Do not remove the engine controller mounting bracket from the fender.

7. Remove controller from vehicle.

8. Reverse procedure for installation.
