Rear Drive Line Replacement

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove right and left inner halfshaft attaching bolts.
3. Support inner halfshaft with suitable wire or equivalent. Do not allow halfshafts to hang.
4. Remove rear side propeller shaft attaching bolts.
5. Using suitable jack stand, support propeller shaft. Do not allow propeller shaft to hang.
6. Remove viscous coupling attaching nut, then slide viscous coupling from rear drive line assembly.
7. Disconnect vacuum lines and electrical connectors from assembly.
8. Using suitable jack stand, support rear drive line assembly. Using suitable chain, securely attach assembly to jack stand to prevent falling.
9. Remove drive line assembly rear attaching bolts, then remove front attaching bolts.
10. Partially lower rear drive assembly, then disconnect remote solenoid and carrier vents.
11. Remove rear drive line assembly.
12. Reverse to install. Torque front and rear drive line module attaching bolts to 40 ft. lbs. Torque propeller shaft attaching bolts to 250 inch lbs. and viscous clutch assembly attaching nut to 180 ft. lbs. Torque inner halfshaft to differential carrier attaching bolts to 45 ft. lbs.
