Motor Will Not Operate In Any Switch Position

1. Check for a blown fuse in fuse block.
2. If fuse is defective, replace fuse, then check motor operation in all switch positions. If fuse blows, proceed to step 6.
3. If fuse is good, or fuse has been replaced and did not blow, place switch in Low position.
4. Listen to hear if motor is running. If motor is running, proceed as follows:
a. Check motor output shaft. If it is not turning, replace motor assembly.
b. If output shaft is turning, check drive link to output shaft, or linkage for proper connection.
5. If motor cannot be heard running, proceed as follows:
a. Connect a voltmeter between motor terminal 3 or L and ground strap.
b. If less than one volt is indicated, move negative test lead from ground strap to negative battery terminal.
c. If an increase in voltage is noticed, repair fault in ground circuit. Ensure motor mounting is free of paint and that nuts and bolts are tight.
d. If voltage indicated does not increase to greater than three volts, replace motor assembly.
6. Disconnect motor wiring connector, then replace fuse.
7. If fuse does not blow, motor is defective. Replace motor assembly.
8. If fuse blows, switch, or wiring are faulty. Repair, or replace as necessary.
