Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

Electronic Brake Control Module: Testing and Inspection

The electronic module differentiates between normal and antilock mode braking and controls all phases of antilock system operation.
- The module monitors and processess signals generated by the system sensors at all times.

The module operating program includes a self check routine that tests each of the system components.
- A failure of the self check program will cause illumination of the amber warning light.
- The light will also illuminate if a solenoid or other system component fails during the dynamic phase of initialization.

If a system malfunction should occur, do not immediately replace the control module.
- A blown system fuse, bad ground, or loss of feed voltage will cause system faults similar to a module failure.
- Never replace the module unless flash code, or scan tool diagnosis indicates replacement is actually necessary.
