Fuel Pump/Sending Unit Module - Tightening Procedure

NO.: 14-04-93

GROUP: Fuel

DATE: Apr. 30, 1993

SUBJECT:
Fuel Pump/Sending Unit Module Service

MODELS:

1992-1993 (AB) Ram Van/Ram Wagon
(AD) Ram Pickup/Ram Cab Chassis/Ramcharger
(AN) Dakota
(ZJ) Grand Cherokee/Grand Wagoneer

DISCUSSION:

When removing a fuel pump/sending unit module for any reason, make sure to fully tighten the large lock nut that secures the module to the fuel tank. Mark the lock nut in its original position before disassembly. Count the number of turns required to remove the nut. When the module is installed in the tank, turn the nut the same number of turns it took to remove it. This will align the mark made before disassembly. Then turn the nut one inch further.

This procedure should assure a leak proof seal.
