Speed Control Switch Always High

WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition key ON.

SET CONDITION
An open condition is detected in the speed control ON/OFF switch circuit.

THEORY OF OPERATION
This circuit is monitored continuously by the PCM whenever the ignition is turned ON.

- The trouble code is set if the voltage in this circuit is above 4.7 volts for more than 1 second.

PROBABLE CAUSES
- ON/OFF switch circuit shorted to power
- ON/OFF switch circuit open
- PCM failure
