Ignition Control Module: Description and Operation
Component Overview:
PURPOSE The
Engine Control Module (ECM) controls ignition timing and dwell by interrupting the ignition coil primary circuit ground, through the
power transistor.
OPERATION The solid state
power transistor is used as a switching device, to control current in the coil primary circuit, (through the ground circuit).
