Access Cover: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Position the front seats in the full rear position. If the vehicle is equipped with swivel seats, the passenger side seat may be swiveled rearward for improved clearance.
2. Remove the ash tray.
3. Disengage the forward engine cover latches and remove all the latching bolts at the floor area.

CAUTION: Care should be exercised during engine cover removal to prevent scratches on the instrument panel show surfaces.

4. Using the ash tray bar as a handle, slide the cover approximately 76 - 101 mm (3 - 4 inches) rearward. Rotate the cover counterclockwise and lift out.

INSTALLATION
1. Using the ash tray as a handle, slide the engine cover into position.
2. Engage the forward latches and install the latching bolts. Tighten the bolts to 2.7 Nm (24 inch lbs.) torque.
3. Install the ash tray.
4. Move the seats to the original position.
