Heater Core: Service and Repair



Front
REMOVAL
1. Remove the heater-A/C housing from the engine compartment. Refer to: "Housing Assembly HVAC : Service and Repair" Service and Repair
2. Remove the top cover from the heater-A/C housing.

Heater Core Remove/Install:




3. Remove the screw that secures the heater core tube support bracket to the mounting boss on the top of the heater-A/C housing.
4. Lift the heater core out of the heater-A/C housing

INSTALLATION
1. Insert the heater core into the bottom of the heater-A/C housing.
2. Install the screw that secures the heater core tube support bracket to the mounting boss on the top of the heater-A/C housing. Tighten the mounting screw to 2.2 N.m (20 in. lbs.).
3. Reinstall the top cover to the heater-A/C housing.
4. Reinstall the heater-A/C housing in the engine compartment.

Rear
The heater core for the optional rear heater-A/C unit is integral with the air conditioning evaporator coil. This unit is referred to as the combination coil.
