SYMPTOM
P0740 - TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH, NO RPM DROP AT LOCKUP

WHEN MONITORED
Continuously with the key ON.

SET CONDITION
This code will set if the Torque Convertor Clutch (TCC) cannot achieve the desired drop in engine RPM when the TCC solenoid is energized. Three consecutive bad tests are required to set the code.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Checking fluid level and condition
- Intermittent torque converter clutch solenoid
- Valve body
- Input shaft seals
- Internal problem or TCC solenoid
- Misfire codes set
- Oil pump/shaft/seals
- Torque converter
