Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair

LATCH RELEASE CABLE

REMOVAL

1. Remove hood latch.

2. Disconnect release cable from latch (Fig. 4).

Fig. 5:

3. Remove screws attaching handle/cable to bottom of knee blocker (Fig. 5).
4. Separate release cable grommet from dash panel hole.
5. Pull/route hood release cable through dash panel hole and remove.

INSTALLATION

1. From inside vehicle, route cable through hole in dash panel.
2. Position cable and release handle at bottom of knee blocker and install screws.
3. Install release cable grommet in dash panel hole.
4. Route release cable to latch.
5. Connect cable to hood latch.
6. Install hood latch.
