Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the screws that secure the top cover of the heater-A/C housing to the housing.
3. Unplug the wire harness connector from the fin sensing cycling clutch switch.

Fin Sensing Cycling Clutch Switch Remove/Install:




4. Carefully lift the front of the heater-A/C housing top cover far enough to access and remove the fin sensing cycling clutch switch probe from the evaporator coil fins.

INSTALLATION
1. Carefully lift the heater-A/C housing top cover far enough to insert the fin sensing cycling clutch switch probe into the same hole between the evaporator coil fins from which it was removed.
2. Position the grommet on the fin sensing cycling clutch switch wire harness into the notch on the front edge of the lower heater-A/C housing.
3. Secure the top cover to the heater-A/C housing with the mounting screws. Tighten the mounting screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.).
4. Plug in the fin sensing cycling clutch switch wire harness connector.
5. Connect the battery negative cable.
