Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

The speed sensor is located in the tail housing of the transmission.

REMOVAL
1. Remove under body stone shield.
2. Disconnect speed sensor wiring.
3. Remove sensor mounting bolt.
4. Pull sensor out of tail housing.
5. There is an O-ring located inside of the tail housing speed sensor bore. Use a small hook tool to remove this O-ring.

INSTALLATION
1. Install a new O-ring into tail housing speed sensor bore.
2. Install new speed sensor.
3. Install speed sensor mounting bolt and tighten to 11 Nm (95 inch lbs.).
4. Connect speed sensor wiring.
5. Install under body stone shield.
