Instrument Panel Mat (Pencil Tray) Adhesion

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing a revised instrument panel mat.

MODELS:

2002 (PL) NEON

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO APRIL 18, 2002 (MDH 0418XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The instrument panel mat (pencil tray) may be separating from the instrument panel.

DIAGNOSIS:

Inspect the instrument panel mat for separation from the instrument panel. If mat is separating perform the Repair Procedure.





PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove the existing mat from the instrument panel and discard. The use of a fiber (trim) stick may be necessary to assist in the removal of the mat.

2. Clean the instrument panel surface with a clean cloth and isopropyl alcohol (single application).

3. Install the revised mat using finger pressure and/or a roller.
