Front
REMOVAL - FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove front wheel and tire assemblies.
3. Remove caliper mounting bolts.
Caliper:
4. Remove caliper by tilting the bottom up and off the caliper adapter.
NOTE: Do not allow brake hose to support caliper assembly.
Inboard Brake Shoe:
5. Remove inboard brake pad from the caliper adapter.
6. Remove outboard brake pad from caliper adapter.
Top Anti-Rattle Spring:
Bottom Anti-Rattle Spring:
7. Remove and replace the anti-rattle springs from the caliper adapter.
INSTALLATION - FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD
1. Bottom pistons in caliper bore with C-clamp. Place an old brake pad between a C-clamp and caliper piston.
2. Clean caliper mounting adapter and anti-rattle springs.
3. Lubricate caliper mounting bolts and anti-rattle springs with Mopar brake grease or Dow Corning 6807 grease.
4. Install new anti-rattle springs.
NOTE: Anti-rattle springs are not interchangeable.
5. Install inboard brake pad in adapter.
6. Install outboard brake pad in adapter.
7. Tilt the top of the caliper over rotor and under adapter. Then push the bottom of the caliper down onto the adapter.
8. Install caliper mounting bolts and tighten to 33 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).
9. Install wheel and tire assemblies and lower vehicle.
10. Apply brakes several times to seat caliper pistons and brake pads and obtain firm pedal.
11. Top off master cylinder fluid level.
