Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

Wiper Motor Remove/Install:





2. Disengage the wiper drive link from the ball stud on the wiper motor crank arm.
3. Unlatch, open, and support the hood panel.
4. Disconnect the headlamp and dash wire harness connector for the wiper motor from the motor pigtail wire connector.
5. Remove the three screws that secure the wiper motor to the cowl plenum panel reinforcement.
6. Remove the wiper motor from the cowl plenum panel.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the wiper motor to the underside of the cowl plenum panel.
2. Install and tighten the three screws that secure the wiper motor to the cowl plenum panel reinforcement. Tighten the screws to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.).
3. Reconnect the headlamp and dash wire harness connector for the wiper motor to the motor pigtail wire connector.
4. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
5. Close and latch the hood panel.
6. Reinstall the wiper drive link onto the wiper motor crank arm ball stud.
