Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the HVAC housing.




2. Disconnect the HVAC wire harness (1) from the evaporator temperature sensor connector (2) located on the passenger side of the HVAC housing (3).
3. Remove the evaporator temperature sensor wires (4) from the retainer (5) on the HVAC housing.
4. Remove the grommet (6) from the opening in the HVAC housing.
5. Carefully remove the probe of the evaporator temperature sensor from the fins of the A/C evaporator.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: The A/C evaporator has two other locations (besides the original location) provided for the evaporator temperature sensor probe. Use the location (hole) that best provides a secure fit of the probe between the evaporator fins.

1. Install the probe of the evaporator temperature sensor into one of the holes provided between the fins of the A/C evaporator.





2. Install the grommet (6) into the opening in the HVAC housing (3).
3. Install the evaporator temperature sensor wires (4) into the retainer (5).
4. Connect the HVAC wire harness (1) to the evaporator temperature sensor connector (2).
5. Install the HVAC housing.
