Battery Tray: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery cables.




2. Remove the battery thermal guard (1).




3. Remove the battery hold down (2) and bolt (1).




4. Remove the battery from the battery tray.




5. Remove the two upper bolts for the battery tray (1).
6. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly.
7. Remove the right front wheelhouse splash shield.
8. Remove the lower battery tray (1) mounting bolts (2).
9. Remove the electrical routing clips at the battery tray.
10. Remove the battery temperature sensor from the battery tray (1).
11. Remove the battery tray (1) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Clean and inspect the battery tray (1). Refer to Battery System for battery tray cleaning and inspection procedures.
2. Position the battery tray (1) into the vehicle.




3. Install and tighten the lower bolts (2) that secure the battery tray (1). Tighten the screws to 12.4 Nm (110 in. lbs.).
4. Install the right front wheelhouse splash shield.
5. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly.
6. Install the battery temperature sensor onto the battery tray (1).
7. Install and tighten upper bolts that secure the battery tray to fender frame. Tighten the screws to 12.4 Nm (110 in. lbs.).




8. Install the battery onto the battery tray.




9. Install and tighten the battery holddown (1) and bolt (2).




10. Install the battery thermal guard (1).




11. Reconnect the battery cables.
