Generator - Removal







REMOVAL





CAUTION: Disconnect negative cable from battery before removing battery output wire from generator. Failure to do so can result in injury.

1. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable at battery.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly, refer to Air Cleaner Housing - Removal.
3. Remove generator drive belt, refer to Accessory Drive Belt - Removal.
4. Remove the upper mounting bolt (1).
5. Remove the lower mounting bolt (2) and nut.




6. Unsnap plastic protective cover (1) from B+ mounting stud.
7. Remove B+ terminal mounting nut (2) and B+ terminal (3) from generator.
8. Disconnect field wire electrical connector (4) by pushing on connector tab.




9. Remove generator from vehicle.
