Catalytic Converter - Installation

SRT 4










1. Position the catalytic converter on the turbocharger. Loosely in stall the catalytic converter bracket bolts and the catalytic converter-to-turbocharger bolts.










2. Tighten the catalytic converter-to-turbocharger nuts to 15 Nm (132 in. lbs.) in the pattern shown.
3. Tighten the catalytic converter-to-turbocharger bracket nuts to 58 Nm (42 ft. lbs.).
4. Tighten the catalytic converter-to-turbocharger nuts to 26 Nm (230 in. lbs.) in the pattern shown.









5. Install upstream oxygen sensor. Tighten sensor to 56 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).
6. Connect upstream oxygen sensor electrical connector.
7. Install downstream oxygen sensor. Tighten sensor to 56 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).
8. Connect downstream oxygen sensor electrical connector.










9. Install turbocharger heat shield.
10. Install under floor catalytic converter .
11. Lower vehicle.
12. Connect negative battery cable.
13. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
14. Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
