Transmission Fill

TRANSMISSION FILL

To avoid overfilling the transmission after a fluid change or overhaul, perform the following procedure:

1. Remove the cap on the filler tube and insert a clean funnel in the transmission fill tube.
2. Add following initial quantity of DEXRON(R) VI to the transmission:
a. If only fluid and filters are being changed, add 23.2 pints (11.0 liters) of DEXRON(R) VI to transmission.
b. If transmission was completely overhauled and the damper was replaced or drained, add 28.5 pints (13.5 liters) of DEXRON(R) VI to the transmission.
3. Check the transmission fluid and adjust as required. Service and Repair.
