Engine - Installation






INSTALLATION






NOTE: Do not use air tools to install Engine Lift Fixture and Adapter 8984A Eagle (1,2).

1. Install Engine Lift Fixture 8984A (1) and Adapter 8984A Eagle (2).
2. Position the engine in the engine compartment.





3. Lower engine into compartment and align engine with transmission.
4. Lower engine assembly until engine mount through bolts rest in mount brackets.
5. Install the (OCV) Oil Control Valve.
6. Install remaining transmission to engine block mounting bolts (2)and tighten.





7. Tighten engine mount thru bolts (3).
8. Install drive plate to torque converter bolts.





9. Install the structural dust cover (2),Structural Dust Cover - Installation.





10. Install the starter (1) and connect the starter wires Starter - Installation.
11. Install exhaust pipe to manifold.





12. Remove Engine Lift Fixture 8984A and Adapter 8984A Eagle (1,2).
13. Connect the fuel supply line Service and Repair.





14. Reinstall the power steering pump.
15. Connect the heater hoses (2).
16. Connect the radiator lower hose (1).
17. Install the intake manifold Intake Manifold - Removal.
18. Install the generator (2) and wire connections Generator - Installation.





19. Install a/c compressor (4) and lines A/C Compressor - Installation.
20. Install the accessory drive belt Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Installation.
21. Install radiator Engine Cooling Radiator - Installation.
22. Connect the transmission oil cooler lines to the radiator.
23. Install the fan shroud.
24. Install the fan Radiator Cooling Fan
25. Connect the radiator upper hose.
26. Install the condenser A/C Condenser - Installation.
27. Install upper radiator support crossmember.
28. Install the washer bottle.
29. Charge the A/C systemRefrigerant System Charge.





30. Install the cowl grille (4), and the cross-bar beam. Cowl Panel Cover - Installation
31. Install the air cleaner assembly.
32. Fill engine with oil .
33. Fill cooling system Service and Repair.
34. Connect battery negative cable.
35. Start engine and inspect for leaks.
36. Road test vehicle.
