Generator - Installation






3.3/3.8L





1. Position generator (1) to engine and install two mounting bolts (2) and (3). Tighten both bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).





2. Install alternator bracket (3) to the alternator and stud.
3. Install alternator bracket nut (2) and tighten to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
4. Install alternator bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).





5. Connect field wire connector (4) into generator.
6. Install B+ terminal (2) and nut (3) to generator mounting stud. Tighten nut to 13 Nm (115 in. lbs.)
7. Snap plastic protective cover (1) to B+ terminal.
8. Install drive belt Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Installation.
9. Connect the negative battery cable, tighten the nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
