Oil Temperature Sensor - Installation





INSTALLATION






NOTE: Apply Mopar(R) Thread Sealant with PTFE to the sensor threads before installing into the engine block.

1. Install the oil temperature sensor (1).





2. Connect the oil temperature sensor electrical connector (1).
3. Position the generator and install the upper mounting bolt finger tight.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.





5. Install the generator lower mounting bolts (1) and tighten to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).





6. Position the lower splash shield and install the splash shield retaining bolts (1).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Tighten the generator upper mounting bolt to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).

CAUTION: When installing a serpentine accessory drive belt, the belt MUST be routed correctly. The water pump may be rotating in the wrong direction if the belt is installed incorrectly, causing the engine to overheat.

9. Install the accessory drive belt Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Removal
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
