CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY






Lightly lubricate head bolts under bolt head and on threads, with engine oil and install. Using the sequence shown, tighten bolts in the following steps:

Tighten bolts 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.).
Back off 360° in sequence.
Tighten bolts 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.).
Re-check all bolts 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.).
Tighten all bolts an additional 1/4 turn (90°).






SURFACE VARIATION

Check the head distortion.
Maximum overall variation end to end 0.305 mm (0.012 inch)
Maximum overall variation side to side 0.076 mm (.003 in.).

Check block surface for distortion.
Maximum variation end-to-end 0.076 mm (.003 in.)
Side-to-side 0.051 mm (.002).
