Backlite - Removal






REMOVAL






NOTE: Windshield removal shown, backlite similar.

1. Before proceeding with the following repair procedure, review all warnings and cautions Service Precautions.
2. Remove the trim panel from the rear shelf Rear Shelf Panel - Removal.
3. Disconnect the wire connectors from rear window defogger terminals and, rear window mounted radio antenna, if equipped.

CAUTION: Be careful not to damage painted surfaces when cutting urethane around the backlight.

4. Using an assistant and a wire-type windshield cut-out tool (1, 3 and 4), cut and separate the urethane adhesive (2) securing the backlite to the backlite fence.
5. Carefully remove the backlite from the vehicle.
