CRANKSHAFT MAIN BEARING

NOTE: The main cap crossbolts are torqued after final torque of the main cap bolts. Always use a new crossbolts.

Clean and apply a light oil film to all cap bolts. Install all main bearing caps.Install all M12 cap bolts and alternately tighten in two steps using the following sequence.





Step 1 28 Nm ( 20 ft. lbs.).
Step 2 Turn main cap bolts an additional 90°.

Install the M8 crossbolts with attached washer/gasket
Starting with crossbolt A, tighten each crossbolt 31 Nm ( 23 ft. lbs.)
Repeat crossbolt tightening procedure.






Bearing Clearance 0.023 - 0.051 mm (0.0009 - 0.002 in.)
