Charge Temperature Switch (CTS)

This switch is used on 6 and V8 engines, and is installed in the intake manifold where it is exposed to the incoming air-fuel mixture charge. When the charge temperature is below 60° F, the CTS will be closed permitting no EGR valve operation. When the charge temperature is above 60° F, the CTS will open, permitting the EGR time delay device to count down and resume normal EGR operation.
The EGR time delay device used with this system is unique and not interchangeable with those of previous years.
